Winning Start For New Zaragoza Boss

Result: Real Zaragoza 2 Atletico Madrid 1

Real Zaragoza came from behind to record a crucial 2-1 win at the Romareda against Atletico Madrid this evening. Simao Sabrosa gave the visitors the lead after 26 minutes, but the hosts levelled when Pablo Ibanez diverted Gabi's free-kick into his own net later in the first half. Diego Milito secured all three points for the home side with a late penalty that ends a run of four straight defeats for Zaragoza in La Liga.

Zaragoza looking good

Real Zaragoza’s impressive form continues as they move up into fourth following a 2-0 win over Racing on Sunday. Diego Milito and substitute Angel Lafita earned the Zaragoza their eighth win of the season.
Atletico Madrid fell below Zaragoza in the table after going down 2-1 at home to Espanyol.
The Barcelona-based club grabbed their first away win of the season, thanks to goals from Raul Tamudo and Luis Garcia. Fernando Torres scored Atletico's goal but it was not enough to prevent the home side from losing at the Vicente calderon.
Valencia were back in good form with 4-0 hammering of 10-man Deportivo La Coruna. Miguel Angel Angulo scored the opener, with the dismissal of Juanma contributing to Valencia's second as David Villa scored from the penalty spot. Villa grabbed a second goal and a last-minute strike from Vicente sealed the win.
Real Betis picked up a valuable point against 10-man Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Celta Vigo blew half-time lead as they registered a 1-1 draw against Villarreal, with Fernando Baiano's strike cancelled out by Forlan.
Gimnastic fought back from a goal down to defeat Levante 2-1 at the Nou Estadi and drag themselves off the bottom of the Primera Liga.
The visitng side had taken the lead through Mustapha Riga, but goals from David Garcia and Ruben Castro turned the tables and the result in nastic's favour.
Osasuna strolled to their third successive league victory with a 3-0 result against Mallorca. Second-half goals from Savo Milosevic and Javier Flano Bezunartea and Francisco Punal's penalty secured the win, with the late dismissal of Maxi Lopez only heaping more misery on Mallorca.
Athletic Bilbao secured an important 4-2 win over Recreativo Huelva.
