The top goal scorer in Spain is awarded the Pichichi award at the end of every La Liga season by the Madrid based sports newspaper Marca. The award is named in honour of Rafel Moreno Pichichi, a prolific goal scorer who played for Athletic Bilbao during 1910's and 1920's.
The best goalkeepers in Spain receive a similar award called the Ricardo Zamora trophy, named after the legendary Barcelona, Espanyol and Real Madrid keeper of the 1920's.
